Obituary for Theresa Dellapace Cerda

Theresa Cerda of Warren, Michigan, originally from Royal Oak, known to her friends as Terry, died July 11, 2018 at St. John/Macomb Hospital in Warren. She was 92 years young. Theresa was born August 23, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan.

For many years, she worked at Wayne Oakland Bank and later at Fashion Bug in Royal Oak. Theresa was very proud to have graduated from high school later in life, in 1981 from Lamphere High School in Madison Heights. She attended the Royal Oak Senior Center, had many friends there, and enjoyed volunteering her time for others. Theresa’s greatest pleasure was spending time with her 3 sons and their families.

Theresa was blessed with 2 best friends, Chris, her hairdresser for over 30 years and Colleen who picked her up and took her to church.

Theresa always loved dancing and music. She enjoyed playing her red tambourine whenever live music was around.

She was preceded in death by husbands (Edmond Poirier) and Raymond Cerda.

Theresa is survived by her children, Tim Cerda, Lee Poirier (Sandi), and Jerry Poirier (Sue). Theresa also has 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Theresa to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
