Obituary for Edna Mae Fuson

Edna (Eddie) Mae Fuson went home to be with Jesus and her loving husband on July 18, 2018.  She was born on June 28, 1926 to Bertis and Lela Long in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Edna was raised on a farm in Terre Haute with her 5 sisters and 1 brother who have all predeceased her: Edith, Florence, Evelyn, Fae, Edward and Charlotte. When Edna was 15 she and her family moved from the farm to a home nearer the city and across the street from the Fuson family. Edna’s family had sold milk to the Fusons, Bud Fuson was her paper boy and her best friend’s brother. On April 13, 1946 she married Earl (Bud) Fuson. It was a romance planned in heaven.

Around 1948 Bud and Eddie moved from Terre Haute to Warren, Michigan Later they moved to Utica and lived there the rest of their lives. They were founding members of Mammoth Baptist Church, now Crossroads Community Church on Auburn Rd. in Utica.  After 43 years of marriage Bud passed away in 1989. Edna continued to live in downtown Utica until she moved to the Utica senior apartments where she resided for her last 20 years

She was the loving mother of Janet Rae (passed as infant) , Nancy (Jim) Watson, Bruce (Dorothy) Fuson, Richard Earl (passed as infant) and Loretta (David) Sutter.

She was the loving grandmother of Bruce (Erin) Fuson, Brad (Regina) Fuson, Derek (Jessica) Watson, Bryan Watson, Brandon (Carrie) Fuson, Alina (Zack) Maccani, and David Sutter.

These wonderful grandchildren brought her much joy with the births of her great grandchildren Chase, Sofia, Anna, Peyton, Bradrick (Bud), Kali, Miriam, Kira, Titus (Ty) and Clark.

She enjoyed many wonderful friendships from her neighborhood, church and from the Utica senior apartments. She was active in the Utica Pioneers. Edna’s delightful sense of humor and her generosity to others will be sincerely missed.
