Bernard “Bud” Julius Chmura, a resident of Clawson for 52 years and formerly of Detroit, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the age of 79.  He was born to his parents Joseph Chmura and Jane (Maiden Name: Bonikowski) Chmura on February 16, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan.

Bud graduated from St. Joseph High School in Detroit in 1958.  He owned and operated Fluid Power Associates in Troy, Michigan for 37 years. Bud is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was in the 403rd Camron during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  Bernard enjoyed fishing, golfing, and bowling in the PIGS league. 

Bernard married Mary Ann (Maiden Name: Carnecki) on August 25, 1962 at St. Monica Catholic Church in Detroit and have since enjoyed over 55 years of marriage together. 

Bernard is survived by his wife Mary Ann, children, Ed (Laurel) Chmura and Christine (Tom) Gilbert; a grandson, David Franklin; step-grandchildren, Jacob Martin, Mitchell Martin, Miranda Martin; step-great-grandchild, London Martin; sister Shirley Kata; and his sister-in-law, Joni Melms.

Bernard was preceded in death by his brother Richard Chmura; and his parents Joseph and Jane.

Funeral Information

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Thursday, Sept. 28th, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, Clawson.  A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., also at the funeral home.
