Sally Stephanoff

Born January 2, 1934 Detroit Michigan

Died October 8, 2017 Royal Oak Michigan Age 83

Sally Stephanoff was born Sally Ann McQuesten and attended Mackenzie HS in Detroit where she met her Husband Steve Stephanoff.  They were married over 65 years.  Together, they traveled the United States, Canada and Hawaii extensively.  Sally enjoyed country music, horse racing, card games, trivia games, playing piano, and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.  Sally died in her sleep at home with her family surrounding her.  Sally had 5 sons, Greg, Gary, Glenn, Garth and Grant.

Sally spent many years with her family at her cottage on Lake Erie in Canada near Point Pelee National Park.  While raising their five boys, she never missed any of her children’s sports while they competed in baseball, basketball, swimming and football.  She was a great cook and kept the entire troop well fed and healthy while fully managing all the kids sports and social lives.  She was an incredible multitasker and just did a great job a keeping everyone happy and moving forward.

Although all 5 boys towered in stature above her, they all cowered when she was dishing out discipline.  She was loved and well respected by all her children and husband. She would always give you a chance but you knew she was watching.  Sally was extremely well tempered and articulated her position to you without question.  She loved people and was extremely polite and courteous.  She loved to engage in intellectual conversation.

Sally was not lacking in wit and intelligence and really enjoyed being challenged.  She prided herself with the ability to remember everything.  Sally was also an assistant teacher at Upton Elementary when her children attended.  She was socially adept and well liked by everyone whom she encountered.

Sally was simply a fun person to be around and she will indeed be missed.
