Online Obituaries for the Troy, Royal Oak, Clawson & Shelby Township MI Area

John 'JC' Charles Cleven of Royal Oak, Michigan passed away Sunday, March 26th, 2017 at the age of 51. John was born and raised in Clawson, Michigan and then moved to Pleasant Ridge, Michigan for 23 years before moving to Royal Oak, Michigan.

John was an all-around athlete, the star of his high school football team. There wasn't a sport he didn't like. He also enjoyed fantasy football and watching the golf channel. He played on a men's golf league with his friends every Wednesday for years. He also enjoyed being outdoors, being by the water, camping and bike riding. He espcially loved traveling to the Upper Pennisula and spending time on White Fish Bay over Lake Superior.  John liked landscaping and owned his own company, Marleys Landscape. He was an animal lover and especially missed his Little Girl, Marley, but also had two other dogs that he loved dearly, Hershey and Spencer that never left his side. Just one other thing John enjoyed was his sweets, especially Hershey's Chocolates!

In August of 2016, John was re-baptized outside at Stoney Creek Metro Park. He was a very devoted Christian. There wasn't anything John couldn't do and was good at it all.  He was a very hard worker and he was always eager to help others. He was very strong willed.

John is survived by his Best Friend and Love of His Life, Susan Wood and her son, Brendan Wood. His uncle, Barry (Nancy) Patron; sister-in-law, Dawn Cleven; niece, Christine Stears; great niece, Avery Stears and many loving friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Marilyn Cleven and his brother, Scott.
