Gertrude M. Vingsness, age 82 and nearly 60 year Royal Oak resident died January 9, 2012. She was born January 9, 1930 in Petoskey, MI and grew up on a farm in Gills Pier area in Leelanau County. Loving Mother of John and Marsha Vingsness. Gertrude is also survived by her siblings, James (Virginia) Kalchik, Bernice (Albert) Herman, Elmer (Mildred) Kalchik, Patricia (Clarence) Popp and Thomas (Jane) Kalchik, many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Donald and sister, Elizabeth. Gertrude was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church for nearly 60 years and remained very active within the church. She was the office manager of the religious department as well as managing the print shop, ushering, was a member of the altar society along with many other church related activities. She loved to travel the world.

Funeral Information

Visitation Friday 2-9 pm with vigil service at 7:00 pm at Gramer Funeral Home in Clawson (705 N. Main St.). Funeral Mass Saturday 11:00 am (instate 10:30) at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Clawson (581 E. 14 Mile).
