James Tyranski

September 29, 1961 - September 12, 2017

Online Obituaries for the Harrison Twp., MI. area.

James “Jim” Edward Tyranski died after fighting a courageous fight with cancer early Tuesday morning at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 55 years old. Jim was born September 29, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan to Jerome Edward Tyranski and Mary Ann (Maiden name: Bruce).

Jim was a loving, welcoming, family oriented man who relished gathering with family and friends. He was generous with his time and resources. If he wasn't using his skills as a mechanic to fix the car of someone in need, he'd give you the shirt off his back if that's what was needed. A good listener, he would sit and listen for hours and would offer an opinion only if asked. His messages were always sprinkled with hope, encouragement and belief in whomever he was talking to.  He was blessed with a musical gift which was often displayed at parties with family during the holidays and around numerous campfires with friends. To quote the title from a famous George Harrison song "My Guitar Gently Weeps". We weep because we will really miss you in all of the roles that you filled so well as son, husband, father,  papa, brother, nephew and good friend. You BRIGHTENED our world and will be ALIVE in our hearts forever.

Jim graduated from Kimball High School in 1980 and received his training as a mechanic from Chrysler’s Motech in 1984.  He was employed by Great American Foods.  Jim was a member of the Men’s group at Kensington Community Church.

Jim is survived by his wife Donna Gail (Maiden name: Vineyard) whom he married on June 1, 1985 in Royal Oak, Michigan, their children Jeremy, Christopher (Hillary), Michael and Bridget (Aric) Kadlitz and 2 grandchildren, Tucker and Ava, with another granddaughter to be born very soon, Alaina James.

He is also survived by his siblings Stephen (Julie), Laura (Steve) Mayer, Michael (Kari) and his loving mom, Mary Ann.  Jim is preceded in death by his father, Jerome.
