Regina Agnes Slowik, affectionately known as “Reggie”, passed peacefully into the Lord's arms on Wednesday September 20, 2017 while at home and surrounded by her family.  She was 90 years old.  Regina was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 24, 1926 to her parents Walter Stanley Rewekant and Agnes (Maiden Name: Papow) Rewekant.

Regina was a devoted member of Guardian Angels Catholic Community, she was the head usher at church for many years.  Regina enjoyed charity work and helping at the Soup Kitchen.  Regina was a big time bowler, playing in many leagues. She worked from 1969 until her retirement in 1991 at the Oakland Mall Hudsons.

Regina married the love of her life, John Slowik, on June 15, 1946, and was able to celebrate their 70th anniversary together before his death on July 2, 2016.

Regina is survived by her children, James (Amy Kessler) Slowik, and Thomas (Clara) Slowik; her grandchildren, John (Kim) Slowik, Amanda Slowik, and Michael Slowik; her great granddaughter, Caitlin; and her sister Jeanette (Maiden Name: Rewekant)  Buchanan.

Regina was preceded in death by her husband John, her son, Phillip, in 1983; and her siblings Frank Rewekant, Richard Rewekant and Shirley (Maiden Name: Rewekant) Buck and her parents Walter and Agnes.

Funeral Information

Friends may visit Gramer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street (Livernois between 14-15 mile roads.) Clawson, MI

Friday, September 29, 2017, from 2 pm until 8 pm.  A Rosary will be held Friday evening at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass celebrating Regina’s life will be held at 10:30 am, instate at 10 am, Saturday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church 581 East Fourteen Mile Road Clawson, Michigan.

Regina will be buried next to her husband John and her son Phillip at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
