Online Obituaries for the Troy, Royal Oak, Clawson & Shelby Township MI Area

Thomas E St. Aubin, born April 15, 1944 a Sterling Heights, MI resident passed away on April 12, 2017.

Thomas was survived by his wife, Lydia L. St. Aubin (Saplatnik); his son, Neil (Abbey) St. Aubin; his twin daughters, Krista (Ryan) Trevithick and Kerri (Jonathan Berry) St. Aubin; his four grandchildren (Annabelle, William, Richard and Katherine); his aunt, Carolyn Smith and cousins.

Thomas grew up in Detroit, MI with his sister Lois St.Aubin-White  and attended Cooley High School. He attended Wayne State University, where he completed his bachelor and master degrees in Geology. He then married Lydia in the fall of 1973. They welcomed their son Neil in 1975 and twin daughters in 1982. He worked for Vernors, Faygo, Cabana Chips, and Coke-A-Cola as a quality control engineer before retiring in 2006.

Thomas had a passion for power lifting in his teens and running in his 30s and 40s. He even completed the Boston Marathon twice as well as numerous other marathons. Thomas's other passions included music and cooking. We all loved his homemade pumpkin pie, baked spaghetti and shepherds pie. He also enjoyed going to jazz clubs to hear his cousin, Brian perform. After retiring, Thomas really enjoyed researching his family genealogy and helped plan his 50th high school reunion. He went from not knowing much about the internet to becoming a pro :)

Thomas's biggest passion was always been his family. He loved spending time with his wife, Lydia, attending many sporting events for their children and having meals together as a family. He always put his family first and loved them unconditionally. He loved his grandkids with all his heart and enjoyed every minute with them. He was a wonderful husband, an amazing dad and a true friend. We will miss his Nosey's and his fun little sayings but we will treasure all the wonderful memories that we created together.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Neil Wesson; his mother, Ruth (Sousa) Wesson; his father, Edgar St. Aubin; his aunt Janette (Sousa) Schwedt; and his sister, Lois St. Aubin-White.

We will miss you Tom, Dad, Opa, Popadopulus and always remember to "Rock the Casbah"!
