Online Obituaries for the Troy, Royal Oak, Clawson & Shelby Township MI Area

Margaret E. Serruys, 83, of Shelby Twp., MI died April 3, 2017.

Mother, Mom, Mama, Mumsee,Marge,Boots so many names for such a diverse woman. First and foremost Mom always had her children's back. Through good times and bad times. She also extended her generosity and love to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandson. Mom was an impeccable secretary in her time and an entrepreneur  owning her own store. She waitressed for years and was awesome at it.

Mom loved animals, flowers and nature in general. Her dogs were her pride and joy. Especially Lola and JJ, she's reunited with JJ now. We had many different animals growing up, dogs, cats, ducks, bunnies, hamsters and even a snake!!!! Mom had such a green thumb, she could grow anything. And it was evident by her beautiful flower gardens. Mom loved birds and feed them all the time, but especially hummingbirds, she was amazed by them and would love to watch them drink from the sugar water. She loved baseball, her Detroit Tigers, and rarely missed watching a game. Mom was a great cook and one of our fondest memories is making homemade donuts with her. She also loved music and to dance. Last but not least is my Mom's sense of humor and quick wit. She was one of the funniest woman I have even know

Margaret is survived by her children Robert (Christine), Alan, Lynn (Robert) Curley and Diane (Paul) Bradley as well as 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Preceded in death by her husband Robert on April 21, 2011.

Paul Gramer and his staff were responsible for making my father’s funeral exactly as my mother wanted it. They were attentive to our every need. Their support was a source of great comfort at this difficult time.
