Dean Joseph Nichols

August 19, 1963 - July 11, 2013

Online Obituaries for the Troy, Royal Oak, Clawson & Shelby Township MI Area

Son of Vivian Maness Nichols of Utica and Frank Nichols (deceased)
Nephew of Norene Maness of Utica, and Les Maness of Arizona
Beloved father of Matt Nichols, Utica, and proud grandfather of 5-year-old Martina.
Beloved brother of Frank Nichols of Oklahoma and Mike Nichols of Roseville, Michigan and loving sister Sandra Nichols Ploetz (deceased).

Dean's many tattoos represented so many parts of his life.

He loved to do the tree-trimming services, and liked the "tree monkey" term for what he did. He loved people, and many times helped strangers and friends with no expectation of paybacks.

His life was full and adventurous, and many times overcame severe and crippling illnesses and bone shattering accidents, and upon recovery, when asked "how are you?" he would always respond with "Top of the World".

He spent the last 3 years saying to us..."God woke me up this morning, so He must have another job for me to do"

He will be missed by so many, especially nephew Mikey, (9) and niece Mikayla, (6).

Paul Gramer and his staff were responsible for making my father’s funeral exactly as my mother wanted it. They were attentive to our every need. Their support was a source of great comfort at this difficult time.
