Online Obituaries for the Troy, Royal Oak, Clawson & Shelby Township MI Area

Rose Marie Colombo of Shelby Township, Michigan passed away Tuesday, November 7th, 2017; at the age of 82.

She is survived by her children; Denise (Rob) Pluhatsch, Robert J. Colombo, Daniel (Christine) Colombo and Victoria Colombo. Her grandchildren; Stephanie, Tony, William, Grace Colombo and Amber Langell. Also her last remaining sibling of 13, her brother, Clem (Jennine) Neault.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Colombo and her daughter, Leona Langell.

"Rose Marie Neault was born to a family of 12 siblings and yet had a personality all her own.  Despite the hard times and the large family she held her own amongst 9 living brothers and 2 sisters.  She lovingly spoke of her Mom’s cooking, her Dad’s hard work and the Catholic school education she was provided.  She then met Robert Colombo and married and their love exploded and overflowed to the point where they adopted 5 babies and gave them all a loving home with every opportunity they could possibly afford.  Catholic school education, and a loving home was given without selfish thought or concern.  No one would ever know they were not their own as once those children entered their lives they were THEIR children and raised them as such.  They had so much love in their hearts and proudly showed off their children to whoever would listen.  Rose was the Koolaide Mom on the block and hosted many sleepovers, and swim/pool parties.  She had a quick wit and often gave a laugh or quick come back to anyone who would listen.  Bingo was a favorite past-time and she won frequently which she never held back glowing about.  Even after her husband died suddenly after almost 40 years of marriage she kept up and provided a loving relationship to her grandchildren.  Friends and relatives of her children and grandchildren became her friends as well.  Many a friend would come to call her “Mom”.

As dementia crept in she still maintained her wit and friendly personality winning over many a caregiver until the sun went down. Near the end she often spoke of “Home” and wanting to be there.  Mom, I am beyond sure that you are now “Home” and that the family who has gone before you are right there with you embracing you as lovingly you embraced us all in your lifetime.  We will miss you terribly.

Love, Your Daughter, Denise"
